Reading logs 7

Summary:
The theory of multiple intelligences are divided into 8 aspects, word smart, music smart, logic smart, picture smart, body smart, people smart, self smart, nature smart. This week, I read about the word smart. Word smart means someone uses words in reading, writing, and speaking well. He is sensitive to how words sound, what they mean, and how to use. I also knew some methods which help people become word smart. 1. Write down your idea as you get them; 2. Read about what interests you; 3. Start a journal; 4. Start going to the library; 5. Look up words that you don't know in a dictionary; 6. Have a regular storytelling time with your family; 7.Make some important book lists; 8. Play with words; 9. Play with spoken words; 10. Join a book club where you can discuss books with others; 11. Write your favorite authors; 12. Go listen to a writer speak; 13. Learn another language; 14. Keep a writer's journal; 15.Attend a play; 16. If you like discussing ideas, join your school's debate team(if it has one).

Reaction:
I am still studying English, so I think it's very important that I practise all aspects of English. How to read a book, how to be a smart reader, how to read a book easily. Those techniques can be learned from this book. If I read well, my English will improve a lot. The key in reading is word. I must know a lot of vocabularies and understand them so that I can use them well. I am not a native English speaker, so I am not sensitive in English. This book help me learn some skills in English learining. I will keep reading this book.

Reading logs 6

Summary:
Last week, I finished the first book, so this week, I turned to another book. Its name is You're Smarter Than You Think. The author of this book is Thomas Armstrong. It's a kid's guide book. At the introduction of this book, it tells me that the definition of smart. How smart a person doesn't depend on the how much score he gets in the test, also not how many mathmatical problems he can solve. It can show a person's smart in different ways. It includes people paint, climb mountain, make business deals, explore nature, invent machines. These are all the ways show a person is smart.

Reaction:
Why will I choose a kid's guide book. I thought I am still a English learner now. I should learn English step by step, from easy to difficult. A kid's guide book doesn't contain much academic, long, and difficult ovocabularies. It's easy for me to read. The topic of this book seems interesting. I thought I will love to read it. It seems about education, inspiration, and encourage. I hope it can be helpful for my study.
